Hello, Pio 校友!
I hope that 2023 is off to a happy and healthy start for you and your loved ones.

Your 校友理事会 been busy the last few months, and I wanted to take this opportunity to recap current activities and highlight opportunities for you to get involved with Carroll and fellow 校友.

At the Council’s November meeting, we were pleased to meet with Mohammed Bey, Carroll’s first Vice President of Institutional Inclusion. He has been in his role since last May, and is responsible for strategic planning to address diversity, 股本, and inclusion not only among students, but university wide as well. He leads the Office of Intercultural and Diversity Engagement (IDE), whose mission is to provide holistic support to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive campus community through meaningful interactions between individuals of diverse cultures, social identities, 视角, 和经验.

The 校友理事会 is excited about partnering with Mohammed and his team to identify opportunities for increased engagement with the University, 学生, and our 校友 – you! One way you can support current and future students is through the Opportunity Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in higher education and seeks to bridge that gap. Watch this space for information on more ways to become involved!

This month, we are busy preparing for the annual National Service Project, which is held in April. Carroll students, 教师, 工作人员, 校友, and friends have raised more than 1,191,000 meals for hungry families over the past thirteen years. The generosity of our 校友 and friends who are involved by reaching out, 回馈, and volunteering, makes it all possible. The collective effort demonstrates the significance of our mission, and how the power of one Pioneer, multiplied many times over, is instrumental in creating positive change.

You can participate by donating a meal, volunteering at your 当地食物银行,支持 美国供养, or donating to Carroll’s Cupboard, which serves students experiencing food insecurity. Watch your email for more information from your State Champion – and thanks to all who have volunteered to help make this program a success once again this year! If you’d like to volunteer to take a lead on this project in your state (I promise, we make it very easy for you!)请电邮 校友@wbilshop.net.

最后, the Office of 校友 Engagement continues to find new and creative ways to involve 校友 with the University and with one another. To keep up on what’s happening, please visit our event page. I am looking forward to the Women in 领导 Convocation Event on March 7 -- it’s free and registration is not required. I’d love to see you there!

Be well, and thanks for all you do in support of your alma mater!
